Do I need an amp to power these speakers?
Double barrel speakers can be powered using the head unit if 4 channels are available. In most cases there are not 4 open channels available on a head unit powering in boat speakers. For optimal performance from your Polk, Kicker, or Wet Sounds double barrel speakers we recommend the HTX-2 Amplifier. This amp will offer better performing speakers at high volume.
